Launched at the height of the pandemic, Language Aid is a digital platform designed to overcome language barriers, which are particularly dangerous in emergency situations, when the safety of each and every one of us depends on knowledge.
Balzac helped the platform by giving it a name in the form of ‘aid’ or ‘aiuto’ or ‘aid’ or ‘ādhāra’ (in Sinhalese), which is universal enough to be understood despite the diversity of the language or ‘language’ or ‘langue’ or ‘luqadda’ (in Somali).
Language Aid connects frontline workers directly with migrants, asylum seekers and foreign nationals in need. Universally accessible, simple and intuitive, Language Aid can be used on a computer or a smartphone and provides translations in most European, African and Asian languages.
